Why I love being a Travel Consultant
I have worked in the travel industry for over 25 years and my enthusiasm for travelling is still as strong as ever. It is wonderful to share the knowledge I have accumulated over the years with my clients and to find the right country/destination/hotel for each individual.
Peoples’ tastes, circumstances, budgets and requirements all vary hugely and with so many years in the industry I like to think I can find exactly the right holiday for each and every one of my clients.
Making sure that their trips are expertly planned so that their holiday surpasses expectations is of ultimate importance to me and the perfect compliment is the fact that so many clients book with me time after time.
It is my mantra that whilst I cannot have been everywhere I always know somebody who has expert knowledge of any required destination. Over the years I have built up amazing connections around the world with hotels, airlines, general managers and tour operators – so between all of us we can plan and organise the perfect holiday.

My Top 5 Places In The World
- France – My first love is Provence. For me it’s just about the light, the countryside, the cuisine and way of life. An early morning bike ride followed by delicious croissants and coffee (well earned) not to mention the odd glass of pale rosé later in the day.
- New Zealand – Adventure all the way. Stunning roads and scenery make for an amazing driving experience. Queenstown is the adventure capital of South Island with jet boat riding and helicopter/light aircraft trips over Milford Sound to mention a few highlights. Wine tasting in Marlborough, a trip to Waiheke Island, the Coromandel Peninsula, accommodation in some of the finest lodges in the world – just a few of the highlights to mention.
- Namibia – A country of great contrast and beauty. Your lasting impression will be of wide open spaces, spectacular scenery and almost year round sunshine and unique experiences. The views don’t get much better as you fly from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund and on to the Skeleton Coast. Quad biking in the dunes are a photographer’s dream – and fine dining on the beach – just a couple of memories!
- The Maldives – The ultimate destination for those wanting an unforgettable romantic experience. From five star properties to Robinson Crusoe style hotels. Deserted beaches, crystal clear balmy waters – the perfect holiday destination to unwind with good food, a few good books and to be spoilt rotten.
- Skiing & Italy – There as so many amazing places to ski, from well known resorts such as Lech in Austria, the Three Valleys – I have a real soft spot for St. Martin de Belleville, Whistler and Vail to little know resorts such as Champoluc in Italy. So much depends on when you can travel, proximity to slopes, transfer times, altitude etc. all these points should be considered before booking a ski holiday. From Lake Como to Venice, Florence, Portofino, the Amalfi Coast, Capri – not to mention Sicily and Sardinia. Italy has so much to offer, so many different experiences from romantic breaks for adults to family holidays ….and I have not even mentioned the food!
My Top 3 Travel Tips
- If you are planning a long-haul trip take time to see each place properly rather than trying to cram too much into one trip. If you are going to South America for example, Chile is a destination in itself, or Brazil and Argentina work well together – but don’t try and do them all.
- If you can give us a realistic budget with which to work and an idea of your plans, we can find the perfect holiday for you. There are so many destinations, accommodation types and things to do on holiday. We can work with you to design a bespoke holiday to suit all your plans.
- Get what you really want from your holiday and compromise on the length of your holiday rather than the other way round. Much better to go to the hotel you want and to have the room you want for 10 nights rather than compromise for 14 nights.
