Day 5-7 South West Tour
[ngg src="galleries" ids="38" display="basic_thumbnail"]On arrival in North Cornwall we went to check out The Point near Polzeath. A nice set up with apartments and houses set around a golf course, gym, spa and restaurant. An easy 15min stroll down to Polzeath Beach to access the water sports and food places. We then headed into Padstow to check in at St Petroc Bistro. As we were staying in a generous room we had an allocated parking space in a nearby garage. A huge bonus in Padstow! Our room was a good size...
Day 3&4 of South West Tour
[ngg src="galleries" ids="37" display="basic_thumbnail"]We arrived in Devon to cloudy skies but it was still warm enough to jump in the sea for a swim. After tackling the over full car park at the hotel (I wonder how many cars actually belonged to guests and how many were just visiting the beach?!) we headed down to the huge beach at Saunton Sands. You have plenty of space and don't feel crowded at all. Lots of dogs enjoying the waves as well as the children. It's so nice to see the whole...
Day two of our South West Tour
After a delicious breakfast at The Pig it was sadly time to check out. We were heading to Burnham & Berrow for a round of golf on their Championship Course (rated 28th in England by top100golfcourses.com). We had a lunchtime tee and arrived with the rain. We are hardcore and decided to brave it with the thought it would blow through quickly. It did, however, heavier rain came through behind! Fortunately we did have a buggy to give our daughter some protection but she was not impressed! Despite the weather we...
Day one of South West Tour
[ngg src="galleries" ids="36" display="basic_thumbnail"]We have arrived at The Pig near Bath. I've been looking forward to checking out a Pig for a few years now. On arrival we drove along the gravel driveway past the herd of fallow deer and chickens, up to the main body of the hotel which is a beautiful country house with the most incredible kitchen garden. Our room is a pleasant surprise, the size of the comfy grade room is generous. There was plenty of space for the camp bed for our daughter and a bath! Time...
Exploring the hotels of Anguilla
[ngg src="galleries" ids="35" display="basic_thumbnail"] I was lucky enough to visit Anguilla to see how some of the Island Hotels had recovered from Hurricane Irma in 2017. We flew out via Antigua with Virgin Atlantic, the flight took 8.5 hours. It was a great start to the trip. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. On the flight (both ways) I would have to say the flight attendants were rather laid back and at times rude (fortunately not all the staff). The food in premium was very average and annoyingly they ran out...
OMAN
In February this year we travelled to Oman staying on the Musandam Peninsular at the remote coastal resort Six Senses Zighy Bay. You have the option of paragliding into the resort – please see video below – an amazing experience – and yes it really is me! Zighy Bay lived up to my expectations in all respects - having sent quite a few clients there I really wanted to experience the property for myself and it truly was a unique destination. The accommodation is very different – we had our...
