Cruising on the Queen Mary 2
We sailed from Southampton to New York on the Queen Mary 2. An iconic ship and a memorable journey. Spirit Away Travel also favour some of the smaller cruise ships such as Sea Dream and a French owned company called Ponant. We sailed with Ponant from Nice all around Corsica last year which was fantastic. Burma
Just a brief collection of photos from my trip to Burma. What a country! The bustling markets the balloon trip in Bagan, the trip down the Irrawaddy on the Sanctuary Ananda, the Buddist Monks and the young girls in their religious orders strolling around the streets, and most importantly the Burmese people. They welcome the tourists with their beautiful smiles and optimism – they have so little it is humbling. There is more written about this trip in a back copy of Travelspeak....
The Maldives
I have been lucky enough to visit The Maldives a couple of times – once on holiday and once on a work trip. Photographs include The Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Cocoa Island and Huvafen Fushi. The view from the seaplanes journeying from one island to the other was amazing – as was feeding time with the stingrays! There is a hotel there for everybody – whatever the requirements might be and I would urge you to visit as it is one of the most beautiful places I have visited....
Croatia
We spent 4 days in the wonderful walled city of Dubrovnik and then took the ferry to the lovely island of Hvar. We stayed in a hotel which was 10 minutes walk from Dubrovnik and walked the city walls and also took a cable car to get an aerial view of the city. There is a great selection of restaurants to choose from. There are chic boutiques, modern hotels and stylish bars. You also have the beaches of the Riviera on your doorstep.
